About Barn Dandys
It began with a love of vintage textiles that she uncovered in her husband's family's 100 year old barn in Colorado, and from her obsession with vintage toys and children's furniture that inspired Polly Wilson to start Barn Dandys.
Barn Dandys earliest products incorporated at least one aspect that was old, whether it was an old furniture leg, a vintage western textile, or an antique spindle. As business grew, it became more and more difficult to find these vintage items. That was when they started building their own furniture in a small barn in Colorado. The result was Teeny Weeny Footstools, Small Chairs, Itty Bitty Benches, and Tiny Couches. Soon, the collection developed into products even adults dreamed of having, including beautiful teepees, tents and bedrolls.
Polly's success in the children's world was limited to the lack of vintage textiles so she began designing and producing her own. Barn Dandys still has a small factory located in Oklahoma and with several full-time employees, Wilson and her team continue to create children's products that are whimsical, beautiful, and based on one simple idea. Barn Dandys wants children to play outside, hide, rest, color, giggle, and make messes in a play place that they will remember when they have children of their own.

I've been looking for an old style tray where the metal is molded so if drinks spill the mess won't go on the floor. It is obvious from the photos that the tray met this criteria. However, the molded portion hits the metal support bar in the wrong place so that if one tries to fold the tray flat the clip comes unsnaped from the bar, all falling to the floor. Unseen in the photo is the edge of the tray. It is rolled up! This creates a sharp edge. If one rests one's forearm on it one quickly gets a painful pressure point. Old fashioned trays do not have this sharp edge. To top it all off the leg base is wider than the tray width causing one to trip over the leg, spills are more frequent than ever! I would return the 2 trays I bought, but I threw the box away.

I wish it had been adult sized instead of being for children. It is just as advertized though -it's cute and well-built and I am able to use it while sitting on a low chair.
